We welcome new committee members on a rolling basis. Please read about our standing committees and task forces and indicate those in which you would like to participate below.
Current Committees & Task Forces

BUDGET & FINANCE COMMITTEE: Chaired by the GPBR Treasurer, this important group meets regularly to review the state of current board finances. The group is also empowered with the important task of recommending annual budgets. Financial experience and/or a finance background preferred.Meetings held no less than quarterly.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH COMMITTEE: Reviews grant applictions totaling $66,000 annually in the communities where members live, work, and play. Also seeks additional opportunities for community interaction to enhance the REALTOR® image within the community. Meetings are held monthly.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE: Plan general membership meetings annually. Discuss/ identify/ plan/ promote national designation and certification courses as well as oter industry related classes, seminars, and workshops designed to support the reputation of an industry professional connoted by being a GPBR member. Meetings are held monthly.

FAIR HOUSING & DIVERSITY COMMITTEE: A 24/7/365 issue, this committee meets to develop General Membership Meeting content; plan educational opportunities and insight into the value of Fair Housing and the economic benefits of diversity; and find ways to increase member awareness. Meetings are monthly.

GOLF OUTING TASK FORCE: Plan a fun filled day of networking opportunity, open to both GPBR members and the public, by planning and promoting one of our most popular yearly events. Golf outing takes place in early September with meetings as needed starting in early Spring.

GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE: Participation in this committee is ideal for those with an interest in public policy and issues that confront REALTORS® at the local, state and national levels. Committee members also conduct “candidate interviews” during the election cycle at all levels with those running for elected office in the communities our members serve. Regular meetings are held monthly; additional meetings may be held as necessary based on political events and activities.

GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE: Review all Arbitration and Ethics Filings that come into the board and decide if hearings should be held by a Professional Standards Panel. Participation requires three years in the business and annual attendance of a Professional Standards Workshop. Additional meetings held as needed when complaints are received.

INSTALLATION & HOLIDAY PARTY TASK FORCE: Join us in planning the Installation of next year’s Board of Directors, which takes place in conjunction with our holiday party at a fun and festive gala reception held in December at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club. Meetings held as needed beginning in August.

PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE: Increase public awareness of the Realtor® brand and the activities in which our members are participate. Additionally, make members aware of the significant effort made by the Board in promoting REALTORS® as a valuable community resource. Meetings held monthly.
